Version 10:
This layout is created with vectors in Photoshop (portfolio). 100% my own creation. I like the colors. They reflect the season: spring -> summer. Making this version compatible with 800x600 resolution and higher was a challenge. I have also test viewed it under IE 5.5, NS 4.7, K-Melon(Mozilla). Navigation of this version is at the upper left corner. Hover the main categories to see the submenus.
This version is written in 100% php.

Version 9.0:
This version is created with vectors in Photoshop. 100% my own creation. I followed this
tutorial and played around some more to get this effect. I love it. It's easy on the eyes.

Version 8.0:
To continue my portfolio and domain, here is a new, easy-navigating, high browser and resolution compatible and creative layout.
is written in 100% php and I coded many little functions to make the page somewhat dynamic.
Also upon the opening of this version, I'd like to thank Phi for being my first client. He gave me the opportunity to finish my first ever paid design service and I am very happy about it :) I hope I will be able to give out more service in the future.
Also with this version, I started play with flash. Although I didn't have much luck with the real flash program, I did make a flash splash using fire starter. I really love the effect of it :)

Version 7.0:
This version was originally created to turn regretless to a webdesign service site. However, unhappy experiences in previous job discouraged me to finish it up like I planned. So it turned out without a lot of information I wanted to add. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed making my portfolio.

Version 6.0:
The color of this layout is very light and almost invisible. You can say it's colorless. I'm not sure why i chose this color. It just looked good to me. However, from the guestbook signatures, I found many people loved it.
Up above the top bar of the layout is a quote translated from a chinese proverb - a philosophy i hold to for life - "A person who stands up straight isn't afraid of her shadow being crooked." I put the quote because there are so many people online are nasty gossipmongers who don't have anything better to do.
Upon the grand opening of my new design, i also thanked my sis daynah for the unbelievable support of my web designsand my boyfriend andy for the sweetest words, understanding and encouragement. I don't know how much my life has improved with everything he's done for me.

Version Butterfly:
I want this version to stay simple because I was just kinda tired of complicated designs. I was inspired by a postcard poster in Walmart and decided to proceed for something similar. I found many psp tubs at
this place and played around with the images, finally came up with what you will see in the screen shots.

Version Are You Regretless:
This version is inspired by uniquity.org and luvliness.net. Thanks to their beautiful works and the excellent images found at webshots.com and tonystone.com, I started this design on Feb. 1st, 2001 and finished it at 4:22pm on Feb 4th, 2001. I am really starting to love photoshop and digital arts from a new perspective now. New style sheets function called div class is applied in this version as well :)

Version Ray of Light:
This version was 100% inspired by the site
www.rayoflight.net -- the most amazing flash site in the entire world wide
web. i downloaded the wallpaper they made and edited to make my own layout. This original
art work is of course strictly copyrighted to Ray of Light productions. I have no
intention whatsoever to violate their copyright.
This layout started on Oct. 18, 2000 is one of the biggest projects I've designed.
It involves many tedious designing tricks. First, the amazing scrollbar is created
with a new scrolling javascript found at
dansteinman.com which is
originally written by Dan Steinman. I feel very grateful when I saw the demonstration of
this script at
catcafe.net (thanks dear shampoo ^_^).
However, when I first applied it to my own work, it creates an unwanted black
border around the text area. I can never relieve from my frustration without the help from
my great school friend Paul Ryan. It was him who dug into the huge long javascript
and found the function that created the black border and fixed it for me. It was amazing
how quickly he finished something I simply won't even think about doing. Thank you,
Paul!
The most time consuming designing portion of the page are the two shinny stars I made.
They are two gif animations. I combined the techniques I learned from both
photoshop and psp animation shop to complete the task. Basically I cut out a 36 x 36
pixels of square from the original layout and applied the filter render - Lens flare to
it. For the bottom one, I started with 25% intensity up to 100%. I saved each of the
images I created and opened them in the animation shop. Then I put them together in
one animation and played around with the duration of the individual frame til I got
something I really like. The most challenging part was to figure out the exact pixel
position to place the two animations in which they would fully blend with the background.
Hehehe this really killed many of my precious brain cells. As a newbie to
photoshop, I was able to make the software show ruler on the image; but the ruler was in
inches instead of pixels. I had no idea about the mathematical conversion between inches
and pixels; so I really had no way to know the exact pixel position by using photoshop.
After I thought about it thoroughly, I think the only way is to use a image mapper
software, and outline the area I would like and look at the code it generated. So I
opened homesite and solved my problem =) My entire body felt so much lighter after I
worked out my biggest trouble.
To complete my crediting list, there is one more person I need to thank. I want
to thank my bf Andy for his understanding, kindness and consideration while I spend hours
after hours on my web design. He's only encouraged and praised never complained
about my long "neglect" of him *hehe* It always made me so happy when I
know he's always beside me whatever I do ^_^

Version Marmalade Boy:
This version was started on the nite of 09/05/00 after i read the story on
marmalade love. i was
inspired by the story and the lovely characters. this is in fact the first anime story
i've ever read. you all probably think i'm a big fan of anime.. but i'm really not. i
hardly know anything about anime.. i was first exposed to anime when i started making
webpages. the cuteness of anime/manga characters stimulates me to do something that would
match it up. that's how this version came about, too. cutting up the 8 by 6
table piece by piece for the menu page is a pain. i spent three and half hours using psp 6
to complete the job. i'm glad the menu turned out well. the only problem was i made this
page in 1024x768 resolution, although i tried my best to make sure it look ok in 800x600
resolution, it's still kinda big. so those of you who wish to see the whole layout, please
don't forget to hit F11 =)

Version 1.0:
This version was created on July 3rd, 2000. "while on the greyhound bus thinking
about the domain.. i've also had a good idea of the web design of it. actually i was
inspired by the design of my new sammi cd "to love".. it combines some simple
geometric shapes with vivid photos.. i took the idea and added in some creativity, the
design of regretless.com is produced. i scanned my own very new pic i just took from the
trip and cut myself out of it. then i played with shapes to get them to fit together the
most pleasingly. three hours of playing, testing and viewing.. i finally decided to use
the one you just saw. *one weakness of the design.. i totally forgot about the quote i
wanted to put in the design til i finished it.. and it seemed to fit nowhere after that..
i had to write it in later with text instead of graphic =( other than that, i'm
pretty happy with the design. it's something new for me.. something i have not tried
before.
